Rebuild

Sometimes the entire chimney’s structure is compromised beyond repair and a complete rebuild is needed. A rebuild is required when a chimney has severe spalling of bricks or is experiencing serious mortar deterioration. Upon inspection we are able to determine what type of rebuild is needed.

There are 3 common types of chimney rebuild services.

Partial chimney rebuild: A masonry restoration process where only the top portion of a damaged chimney is completely torn down and rebuilt using fresh brick, mortar, and components. A partial rebuild is performed when the lower structure of the chimney remains structurally sound, but the exposed most upper section has been severely compromised by harsh weather, water penetration, and freeze-thaw cycles.

• Roofline up rebuild:A comprehensive masonry restoration process where the entire exposed section of a chimney above the roof is torn down and completely reconstructed. Because the portion of the chimney sitting above the roofline is entirely unprotected from driving rain, wind, and severe winter freeze-thaw cycles, it deteriorates much faster than the interior sections of the stack. This targeted rebuild restores the safety and structural integrity of the most vulnerable part of the chimney without the massive expense of tearing out the structurally sound masonry inside the home's living spaces.

• Complete Chimney rebuild:The comprehensive process of tearing down an entire chimney structure from its foundation up and rebuilding it completely from scratch. This structural intervention is required when a chimney has suffered catastrophic, irreversible damage throughout its entire height in both above the roofline and inside the home's living spaces or attic. A complete rebuild replaces all bricks, mortar joints, interior flues, and structural components to deliver a brand-new, code-compliant chimney system.
